About Mediated Learning Lab
We are dedicated to strengthening how individuals think, learn, and grow. Through intentional mediation and evidence-based cognitive approaches, we help learners of all ages build confidence, independence, and the ability to approach challenges with clarity and purpose.
“From a struggling elementary student with learning differences and ADHD to a 4.0 GPA graduate and National Honor Society student, our daughter is now taking college courses and pursuing sports medicine at Florida State University. The Feuerstein program changed her life—she would not be where she is today without it.”
The Story Behind the Method
Our work is grounded in the research of Dr. Reuven Feuerstein, an internationally recognized cognitive psychologist whose work transformed how we understand intelligence and learning.
Working with children who had experienced profound trauma—including Holocaust survivors and displaced youth—Feuerstein observed something remarkable: when learning was intentionally mediated by a skilled adult, these children could make significant cognitive gains, regardless of prior labels or limitations.
From this work, he developed the theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability—the belief that intelligence is not fixed, and that the human mind can grow and change at any age.
At the heart of his approach is Mediated Learning Experience (MLE), where a teacher or therapist actively guides the learner to think more clearly, make meaning, and apply strategies across contexts.
At Mediated Learning Lab, this is not just theory—it is the foundation of how we help individuals strengthen thinking, build confidence, and unlock potential.
